Graham's Birthday

Some confusion about the actual date but it was the 22nd as usual. Celebrated with his own personal birthday cake and a romantic dinner with Janet – but sadly no second grandchild……………still waiting!!

Janet's Birthday

Not to be outdone by Courtney’s claims to have the Tet New Year in her honour Graham arranged to have the local Chinese restaurant make out it was Chinese New Year and we and 6 friends trooped off to the fleshpots of Buckingham. Janet’s birthday was celebrated in style and as you can see not without a little liquid refreshment. Great night had by all – enough to put Ms. Middleton in her place.

A visit from America

The weekend of 5 -6 February was spent with Lynn Andrews and Fredrik. We have known Lynn for more years than she cares to remember and she is only just in her thirties. She comes from Alabama (not necessarily with a banjo on her knee) and is the niece of Raymond and Priscilla Griffin. Raymond ran the US operation of IBS which gives you some idea how long we have known them and they have in the past entertained our boys and shown them good ‘ole Southern hospitality. Lynn had just returned from voluntary house building in Uganda and so was ready for some home comforts. So we took them to Stratford to see Shakespeare’s birthplace and have one of the worse meals known to man in an olde English pub with grotty English food. They were polite enough to say it was fine and at least it was no smoking – a prerequisite for Lynn and Janet. On Monday we finished off with a visit to Windsor castle and then dropped them off at Heathrow.
